For the Startnext platform development team we are looking for a Software Engineer (Backend) with immediate effect for our team in Dresden (remote work possible). Apply now quickly and easily via our application form!
The challenge & the task
For more than 12 years, Startnext has enabled founders and creatives to collect the necessary funding and supporters for their ideas, start-up plans or projects. We have a successful business model and want to make our platform a little bit better every day together with you.
- You will support your experienced colleague Cathleen in the software backend development based on PHP.
In close coordination with the other departments, you further develop the platform and the crowdfinancing module.
As part of the seven-member platform development team, you will plan and design the technical concepts of our software using agile methods and participate in software update and release management.
What you bring with you
- At least 2-3 years of professional experience in software development
- You know state-of-the-art technologies (Cloud Native) and bring the following technical skills and experience:
- Two or more progamming languages
- Experience with PHP and PHP frameworks
- Version control with GIT
- Data modeling (relational database, MariaDB)
- CI/CD
- Specific work experience in the payment / Stripe area is a plus.
- You like to work in a team and are willing to take responsibility.
- You have basic knowledge of German. Our team communication is mostly in German.
- Your English skills are also good or very good. We document our software in English.

The general conditions
- Start of work: immediately
- Type of contract: part-time/full-time, minimum of 24 hours/week, unlimited contract
- Work location: Our office is in Dresden; remote work within Germany is possible by arrangement. The platform development team meets at least 1x per month in Dresden.
- Compensation: 50,000-60,000 Euro annual gross (full-time, depending on qualifications & experience).
