OUR DIRECTOR TIANLIN
Tianlin Xu is a Chinese filmmaker based in Germany, with an academic background in German studies and Journalism. Before she found her passion for filmmaking she worked as a coordinator for art and culture projects in Beijing, a position which enabled her to be involved in the organization of a documentary film festival as well as the production of a feature film. Since 2009 she has produced several short documentaries and multimedia stories. “Coming and Going” is her feature-length directorial debut.

Tianlin Xu ist eine chinesische Filmemacherin mit ihrem momentanen Wohnsitz in Dortmund. Bevor sie ihre Leidenschaft für den Film vertiefte, arbeitete sie als Koordinatorin für diverse Kunst- und Kulturprojekte in Peking.
Nach ihrem Germanistikstudium schloss sie ihren Bachelor an der Communication University of China im Fach „Television & Radio Editing and Directing“ ab. 2010 absolvierte sie ihren Master mit dem Studiengang „International Media Studies“ an der Deutschen-Welle Akademie in Kooperation mit der Hochschule Bonn-Rein-Sieg und der Universität Bonn.
Seit 2009 ist sie als freiberufliche Journalistin und Filmemacherin tätig. "Coming and Going" ist ihr Langfilm Regie-Debut.
