What is the project goal and who is the project for?

With Agora MOVE we would like to create content that will respond to the interest of the following communities; the professional and independent scene of dance practitioners of Berlin; the freelancers, co-workers, members of Agora and beyond, as well as the families and expats of Neukölln.

Our motivations for the project are:

  • To offer a space in which new choreographic practices and approaches to the body can be supported and developed
  • Empowering the community through a space that is run by artists for artists
  • Sustainable formats that support Berlin based artists - continuity being the key word
  • A house as a place of reference for newly arrived dancers in Berlin
  • Develop a bridge between the various communities of Neukölln and Berlin

Why would you support this project?

  • Berlin needs more space, more resources for the development and expansion of dance and performance in the city
  • Any daily routine can benefit from body based practices
  • The independent local scene of berlin needs support from within, responding truly to the desires of the artists.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

  • Painting the space
  • Building a separation wall, that enables MOVE to have 2 studios
  • Building a sprung wooden floor
  • Buying the dance floor (Marley)
  • Buying a sound system for classes and rehearsals
  • Setting-up of a changing room for participants
  • Buying teaching materials, (yoga mats, pilates props, meditation cushions, blankets, etc)
