Bird Story
We are four songbirds coming from America with different origins and style.
“Bird with Cello”-
”My birdsongs encapsulates a struggle between industry and nature, between machine and men, home and immigration. I performed with Cirque du Soleil’s “O” production, and had different international collaborations with “Summer Shakespeare Festival” in Ostrava and venues in Poland, Germany, and Czech Republic.” – Ashia and The Bison Rouge
“Diva Bird”-
“I am a multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter from New York. My voice has been compared to no less than a Tom Waits female by keen eared listeners. Through the years, I played with a wide variety of bands and styles: Rock, Blues, Country, Latin, Klezmer, Jazz and Tin-Pan-Alley classics. Currently I am performing alone and also as a member of the famous band “Hazmat Modine”. - Rachelle Garniez
“Troubadour Bird” -
“I grew up in the folk clubs of Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa, but my songs seem to come from an ancient place: the ghostly energies of the vast and empty Canadian landscapes where I was born, or the haunted ruins of the medieval castles where I now live and work. I am currently reconstructing the lost melodies of the female troubadours, the first songwriters to write about profane love in the 12th and 13th centuries. I have won many awards in Canada am have often been called a 21st century troubadour..” - Kyrie Kristmanson
“Free-spirit-bird” -
“I am a jazz lady with a punk attitude, and a diploma in classical piano. Unpretentious and bold, I take on the ills of the modern world.” - Stephanie Nilles
Birds are not able to sail, swim or row to Europe. We are able only to fly. We calculated that we must fly over 60000 Km/miles to arrive in your city.
We are asking you to be part of our journey and knowing that with your contribution you will be helping us to reach our 60000 Km/miles.
1Euro= 1Km/mile
Without you we will not be able to get this project on the road. There is already a great supports team trying to make the tour possible. A little help from friends is the very last step to this wonderful tour on March 2014 in Europe.
We will be able to organize in 17 European cities the first „American Songbirds Festival”. The tour is planned to take place in: Karlsruhe, Salzburg, Wien, Mainz, Stuttgart, Freiburg, Saarburg, Erlangen, Bremen, Halle-Saale, Neustadt a. Rübenberg, Einbeck, Hamburg, Berlin, Koblenz, Bochum, Köln.
If we succeed with this first project we dream to present shows also in Warsaw, Wroclaw, Prague, Moscow, Amsterdam and Paris, too.
All you supporters are the people we want to reach.
1. You help a new independent project not dominated by mainstream media.
2. You can listen four female singer-songwriter, not only one!
3. You get a fair reward with a real value.
4. You love good music.
With your help we will be able to come to Europe and share our music and experience with you. We will be using the money to cover some of our travel expenses like:
- Air tickets for us four and also for our accompanying musicians (David Hofstra, bassist and Olga Kwiatek, violin)
- We will also rent a small tour bus.
We appreciate your support and we are very confident that you will find all the rewards very attractive.
Our team consists of us, the four American Songbirds: Ashia, Rachelle, Stephanie, Kyrie and you, my singer-songwriter music lover! We also have some friends, JARO Medien GmbH (Uli, Carmen, Jorg and Uschi), in Germany that organize our concerts and help us to communicate with our European fans.
