At a time when many people are longing to get together again, to celebrate, laugh, enjoy art and culture under severe restrictions on venues due to Corona, Djamila & Robert are starting Ballhaus Wedding, a new cultural venue for at least 10 years in Berlin Wedding. Our goal is to provide the ideal platform for all kinds of interests and occasions, and new and renowned artists can delight an enthusiastic audience here.

What is this project all about?
This project is about transforming an old Berlin Ballhaus from 1889 into a new and open cultural venue for Berlin Mitte from January 2022. The Ballhaus is to be adapted to the needs of a modern venue on a solid basis, especially during Corona, so that sustainable art, culture, dance and unforgettable days and nights can be organised here for the people from the neighbourhood, from all over Berlin and the city's guests.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?
The aim is to be able to cover the acquisition, conversion and approval costs in the initial phase and to secure its viability, so that a new cultural venue for Berlin can grow here. The funding target covers only a part of these costs.
The target group is all people who like to go to parties, attend theatre events, enjoy classical concerts, attend balls, listen to political discussions, enjoy a Sunday brunch with a tea dance, marvel at children's theatre, love culture & new experiences.
Why would you support this project?
Through your support, many people who want to enjoy art and culture in this historic ballroom can benefit from what we have to offer. This place should radiate as a new cultural beacon in Berlin Wedding.
In addition, there are exciting thank-you gifts that will allow you to enjoy culture and unforgettable nights yourself.
How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?
Most of the costs will be incurred with the launch of this new venue at the beginning of 2022, which we will have to manage with a standard market rent without funding and a large financial outlay:
new music & lighting system, noise control, permit procedures, sanding of floors, painting, new event tables, remodelling, façade work, a grand piano, loss of rent due to Corona.
Who are the people behind the project?
We are Djamila Rempel and Robert Bittner and we have been preparing the idea of this special diverse cultural project for a long time and finally found this wonderful place where we can realise our dreams of an open, cultural location.
