This book contains images, thoughts and new ideas. With 3.000 € we can get it printed.
Bitch MATERial stands for a powerful, contemporary and especially diverse form of mother-identity. In our book you will primarily find work by artists and writers that are mothers. To allow a diverse and profound engagement with the topic, we will further more look at:
How is motherhood lived in the LGBTIQ-community? How much mother is in men and how much mother in childless women? We would like to approach these and further questions, discuss, reflect and explore together with our artists: What is every day life? What is beautiful? And especially: How do we want to live today? In our Art-Book you will find new approaches and a lot of inspiration.
The Art-Book accompanies our interactive exhibition bitch MATERial, which will take place from 22.03.-08.04.18 in Berlin @ Studio1, Kunstquartier Bethanien, Berlin.
Our Art-Book will engage with the topic beyond the exhibition and will bring it into your living rooms. It is for people with a love for art and beautiful books and of course for parents, soon to be parents, people that feel as parents whilst not having children on their own, people that are searching for their mother within; well... YOU! The Art-Book will allow us to make the subject accessible to a wide range of people and thus will be printed in German and English. It is open to an international audience.
We want to break down boundaries and initiate a brought discourse. The topics of our exhibition are universal and with your help we can make it accessible to as many people as possible. This is why the Art-Book will be printed in two languages: English and German.
It will allow us to print the first edition of 500 pieces of the Art-Book.
If we exceed our first funding goal, we will not only print the Art-Book but also organise readings and spin-offs of the exhibition in other locations.

Wir produzieren Filme, Ausstellungen, Videos und Inhalt. Unser Anspruch ist dabei immer unser eigener Geschmack. Dem rennen wir hinterher. Jeden Tag aufs Neue. Blitzschnell. Aus der Puste. Luft holen. Von vorne. Ankommen tun wir selten. Schwitzen: immer.
