Building bridges with music, that's what I've been doing for 17 years on the stages throughout the world. During the lockdown, a booklet with 14 compositions has emerged, the BOOK OF BRIDGES. It tells musically of connections between people and opinions, continents and cultures, joie de vivre, and fragility. Now it finally goes into the recording studio. What is this project all about?

Thank you for joining me! I love connecting people through music and creating incredible, special moments together: Please support the album production and become part of a very unique music project.

It all began with an empty booklet during the Lockdown. At first, the blank pages of this booklet scared me. Pause. Standstill. Nothing. But sometimes it needs exactly this silence to create something new, and so I began to listen intently and inwardly to people, to nature, and to these longings shared.

Page after page, stories, thoughts, and finally music emerged: 14 melancholic to life-fulfilling and joyful compositions for the first time on all my favorite instruments - bass clarinet, clarinet, violoncello, guitar, and piano.

Together with Rebecca Carrington on cello and guitarist Nikos Tsiachris, I invite you to join us on this musical-hero's journey through the emotional lows and highs of the pandemic experience, and of life itself during this time.

Expressive and imaginative, the music tells the tale of searching for hope and the longing for closeness, of joie de vivre, and the fragility of the magical connectedness in times of separation. Together I would like to make it possible to experience the miracle that happens when music is able to build bridges: between people and opinions, continents and cultures, between us and our confidence for what is currently still part of the unknown.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

My goal is that you can hold the new album BOOK OF BRIDGES in your hands in spring 2022!

If the 6,900 € is reached, it will finance about half of the studio production. I finance the rest myself.

But with this album you enable much more, because such a new album also gives us as a trio the opportunity to soon give concerts for you again in wonderful places. To apply to festivals and to get in contact and exchange with other artists and creative people.

Music is a language for me, a medium that builds bridges between people, experiences, emotions, customs, hearts, and cultures.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

If the threshold of 6,900 EUR is reached, I use it to pay for part of the recording and pressing of the album and start a promotional campaign through press work and tour booking.
I work without financial support from a record company and bear all costs myself. Every cent of the campaign goes exclusively to the production of the album and the people involved in it.

In case you don't know the principle of crowdfunding yet: In case of non-success, i.e. if the threshold of 6,900 Euros is not reached, all backers will get their support back! So there is no risk whatsoever for you!

Who are the people behind the project?

For over 15 years I have been following my passion: building connections through music - for very special moments! Whether concerts, compositions, music videos, or albums – to all my projects I give my full dedication and joy of life. Would you like to be a part of it?

I was shaped on my travels and by versatile musical experiences: After two CD recordings and tours as clarinetist of the band Bassa, my first solo album was created in Argentina, the second in Switzerland, the third in the renowned Hansa Studios in Berlin, and in 2018 a duo production that could not be more current: "KINTSUGI" - the art of making the best of life's fractures. I was honored to represent the city of Berlin in Istanbul, Los Angeles, and at the official celebration of the Day of German Unity, as well as give concerts in London, Paris, and Jerusalem.

Again and again, I am seeking and finding rich possibilities of expression beyond classical music and jazz. Since early childhood, my musical heart has beaten for exotic sounds and rhythms. I am inspired by the melancholy joie de vivre of klezmer music, the wild temperament of flamenco, and the gentle aesthetics of tango-argentino. Combined with an irrepressible joy of improvisation, I weave my own moving sound as a bridge-builder between klezmer, tango, and all sorts of other worldly musical styles: “Mondial chamber music” I am calling it ;)

I invited two renowned fellow musicians, whose aesthetics and expressiveness were also shaped on the great stages of this world, to the "BOOK OF BRIDGES" album production: Violoncellist Rebecca Carrington is not only internationally celebrated but also famous for her versatility. We both share a bubbling creativity since our first note together. Guitarist Nikos Tsiachris enriches the trio with his Greek roots as well as with his simultaneously powerful and subtle sound diversity, influenced by flamenco and world music.
