We are building a People's Park on a 23000m2 disused public space in the small town of Unkel as an intercultural meeting point for old & new neighbors

The Integration Workshop is a non-profit volunteer-run citizen's initiative supported working to build a People's park on the former open-air swimming pool grounds in Unkel as an intercultural meeting point for "old and new neighbors". The project is a contribution to integration, to increasing the economic opportunities of the disadvantaged and to combating prejudice and radicalism both among refugees and in German society.

Zachary Gallant

The Integrationswerkstatt is building a model for intercultural and interreligious dialogue and friendship in small towns across Europe, starting with our pilot project in Unkel. We're honored to be the only small town project represented at the European Institute for Dialogue, just as we are the only small town project represented in the competition for the German Integration Prize 2019, and we're honored by the support from our friends and colleagues in Paris, London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Vienna, Sarajevo and across Europe from EIFD!
