Discovering the world: A book with watercolour drawings for babies and small children.
The "Book of Things and Colors" is a special gift for babies and small children. It consists of hand-painted watercolor drawings and is printed on solid recycled cardboard. Ten double pages each show a "thing" and a "colour". Most things, except for the ball, come from nature. On the last double page there is a panorama picture in which all things and colours are united. MADE WITH LOVE!

What is this project all about?
"Madrina" is the italian word for "godmother". Literally it translates as "little mother". With the label madrina we want to produce special gifts for children. The first madrina-gift emerges from a christmas present which I created for my godchild: a baby's book. It enables the recognition of colours and things that come mainly from nature. The book has an international title (six languages) in order for it to be enjoyed by children from everywhere in the world. Upon request, the book title can also be customized with the name of a child when ordering.
What is the project goal and who is the project for?
First of all, we create madrina-gifts for the children who will play with them and enjoy them. The "Book of Things and Colours" is aimed at small children from 10 months onwards. However, madrina is also meant for adults who have a special love for details.
Why would you support this project?
Support this project if you want to make a special gift to your baby, godchild or the baby of friends and relatives - or if you want to support madrina because you are convinced that a trained eye for details has the strength to impact ones view of the bigger picture.
How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?
If financing is successful, I will print the first limited edition of the “Book of Things and Colours”.
Who are the people behind the project?
I am Katharina, a passionate godmother and I put a lot of love and creativity into the gifts for my godchildren. When I created the “Book of Things and Colours” as a Christmas present for my little goddaughter Rosa, friends and relatives encouraged me to publish the book. Like this, the idea for my own label madrina was born. My sister Anna, Rosa's mother, is an accessory and jewelry designer - while I was developing this campaign, we decided that we will develop madrina together. Our products will be made with love and inspired by childhood memories.
