The Doll´s House - Novel

Didn´t we stand right now in the corridor of a simple, yet abandoned looking residential building?
The candle throws a weak cirle of light under its own spilled wax body. Below, on the heavily dusted wooden floor, sits a house.
This is how the novel by Feline Lang, multimedia artist and head of Berlin act
“Feline&Strange” "feline and strange", begins. With music, of course.
In 2020, Feline produced the EP
“The Doll´s House” together with British act birdeatsbaby and US act Sit Kitty Sit, and decided, just like that, to write a novel based on her concept.

She created a psychological - psychiatrical? - doll´s house that lives and plays games with its inhabitants. A lace from many interwoven layers of time and reality, which are connected in mysterious ways.

The German version will be published on Edition Outbird, a small and fine indie publisher, in 2023.
But the novel is so full of imagery, of layers, of hints and connotations, that this does not feel enough. We want a multigenre work of art, just like the mini musical we created from the EP.
And you, you have been asking for a hardcover too, being used to Feline´s paper artwork accompanying her records.

So we decided to make one - but only if you REALLY want it!
We don´t want to produce unwanted paper from dead trees. We don´t want to lose lots of money for all artists involved. So if you want images and hard cover -

A Doll´s House needs toys. And so we asked not one but several artists close to us to join this project:

benSwerk (drawing, Berlin)
Maria Salouvardou (sculpture, Berlin)
Merlin J. Noack (photography, Berlin)
and for the typography standing level with text and artwork, Benjamin Schmidt (Berlin).

All this art would´nt fit into a soft cover, right?

- Softcover in 2 volumes with one cover image

Our first funding goal:
- Softcover in 3 volumes with illustrations and epilogue: alternative endings, the full history of the project, and a fold-up doll´s house.

Our second funding goal:
- Hardcover in 3 volumes with all Illustrations, epilogue, slip case.
