Der Film hatte seine Welturaufführung beim Internationales Filmfestival RIDM in Montreal. Die beiden Screenings waren sehr erfolgreich und das Publikum liebt den Film. Eine der Reaktionen, die uns per Mail zuging:"I saw My Freedom, Your Freedom yesterday at Goethe Insititute in Montreal. I didn't have the chance to tell you in person but I really wanted to congratulate your for that movie, and to say thank you. I think I've never seen a movie so honest. I was also really impressed by your honesty during the question period after the movie. What you wanted to show was so clear, and I was really impressed by the openness with which you talked about the experience of being close to Kübra and Salema, and all those things you've been close to while recording that movie. As many people I guess, I went home completely chocked and I couldn't initiate anything productive because I was so still into it! A warm thank you for that movie, it is really important.
