The feature film "DÜNNES BLUT" (English: "THIN BLOOD") is about addiction, loss of control, and the question: "What decisions must be taken to maintain an independent and self-determined life?"
This film is an authentic tale with tough characters, similar in style to much of the action cinema of the 1980s.
Is it possible to find a place in a society run by criminals and immoral individuals without being a part of it?
Plot
Two years have passed since Adrian Kowalskie had to leave his home; now he's back. In his absence, much has changed. His brother Elias is following in the footsteps of his father to become a police officer, and is engaged to Adrian's childhood sweetheart, Maria. Upon returning home Adrian is not warmly welcomed. His father and brother feel he left the family without reason. What they do not know is that he was arrested for smuggling money for Murat Kaplan.
To escape a long prison sentence, Adrian made a deal with prosecutors. He must contact the Kaplan clan to sabotage their criminal acts. At first everything goes according to plan, and Adrian gains more and more trust of the family. However, Cenk Kaplan, the unpredictable, psychotic brother of Murat is suspicious of Adrian from the very beginning, and regularly tries to provoke Adrian.
And as if that were not enough, Adrian put under more pressure by police Commissioner Bischoff. This results in a private vendetta against Adrian's brother Elias. He is convinced that Elias maintains relations to the Kaplan clan. And rightly so—Elias and Murat Kaplan are childhood friends. Elias interprets the law in his own way, and takes advantage of his status as a police officer for dubious ends. He is notorious in the criminal underworld for his extortionate methods. To convert Elias and thus to preserve the reputation of the police, Commissioner Bischoff sets Adrian on his own brother.
When the brothers meet, it escalates to a confrontation.
In rage, Adrian steals the weapon from his brother. The theft of the weapon triggers a catastrophic chain of events involving Adrian and Elias’ fiancé Maria in a murder.
The main goal is, of course, to produce an entertaining and moving film.
