'Engelsstaub & Seelenbrei' is a theatre-piece set in a world on the verge of losing its ability to truly listen and to appreciate the importance of silence and reflection. ‘The time is out of joint’, as Hamlet told us many years ago. Five ambivalent beings have been handed the task to give this world its much needed balance back and restore its harmony.
Who are these five creatures?
They could be angels or spirits or outcasts or simply people who understand that to be able to find the origin of a river, its source you have to swim against its flow.
These five beings undertake the quest to find out what threatens harmony on earth. They will show the audience the idiosyncrasies of contemporary life, its flaws and its failures.
The performers play multiple characters in this fast-paced satirical look at our times and create the world of the story by utilizing song, dance and storytelling. They not only play the ‘spirits’ but people like the crazed health-freak in a fitness club, someone on a train, a mother, a daughter, a man, a woman, in short, people like you and I.
Our goal is to be able to produce the play "Engelsstaub & Seelenbrei" during a 2-3-week rehearsal period in which we work together everyday until every figure, every song and every light change is settled.
The Premiere would be on the 14.06.2017 at the "Theater im Zimmer" - Hamburg. 4 further shows are planned in the same venue.
The play is intended to appeal to several generations, since the theme is very up-to-date.
Our wish, through "Engelsstaub & Seelenbrei", is that everyday people once in a while will stop and enjoy their life more consciously.
Another goal is to present our play in many cities throughout Germany.
It has been our dream for a long time to bring our own piece to the stage and this up-to-date theme of the play is particularly important to us.
That is why we need YOUR support in order to make it possible!
If the project is successfully funded ...
... we can rent a rehearsal room
... costumes and props can be made
... we can insure our musical instruments during the rehearsal period
... we can afford the required technical equipment
If we raise far beyond the funding goal ...
... we can give an appropriate fee to all the people involve during the rehearsal period (directors, performers, costume designers, technicians)
