We have a lengthy bucket list for society: Demand more fairness. Avoid the climate disaster. Ensure equality. And, to boldly meet these challenges, we need a new social contract based on freedom, trust and equal opportunities – a universal basic income. Only then can we build the world of tomorrow without fear and free of any pressure.

True change happens step-by-step. That’s why our first step is organizing government trials that test variations of universal basic income.

Our approach is unique in the world and allows people throughout Germany to democratically commit to universal basic income pilots during elections. You can have a voice in whether your city or town participates in the world’s biggest universal basic income trial.

Our approach combines a basic income with democracy to engage as many people as possible. We want people to agree to the trial themselves, actively and locally, and to bring it to their area themselves. Because we believe that the freedom and self-determination offered by a universal basic income means that the decision for one should be just as free, self-determined and democratic.

A universal basic income is a major transformation, a paradigm change.

Since many still question the concept, the next step is a broad pilot where we test several variations of universal basic income.

With at least 10,000 people throughout Germany for 3 years. 10,000 people who will have 3 years to redefine their priorities. 10,000 people who can fully realize their potential for 3 years. And supply scientific information that shows us if a universal basic income can really change our society for the better. And if we decide to introduce it: Which version is the best for everyone.

On our way there, we want to engage as many people as possible. That’s why our goal is to allow people all over Germany to vote on whether their area should participate in a trial.

Major change needs people who believe in themselves. People like you and me - and Martin Luther King jr.

Germany’s talking about a universal basic income. We’re taking action and initiating the first government trial on universal basic income – together via direct democracy.

We’re calling on people across Germany to bring the pilot to their area. Anywhere where at least 1% of the population wants to test a universal basic income and people become active locally, we’ll collect signatures for a binding referendum that starts the pilot beginning in 2023 – with no excuses.

Government trials on universal basic income:

• Beginning in 2023, every thousandth person in participating cities and towns will be given a universal basic income for three years.
• Different variations of universal basic income will be tested and their effectiveness evaluated by an independent research team.
• The first universal basic income will be €1,200 per month. The research teams will define how the different versions vary.
• The more participants provided by the cities and towns, the more variations that can be tested.
• This will allow us to discover which universal basic income is best for our society.
