20th Festival of Central and Eastern European Film

From May 05. – 11, 2020 the festival will once again transform the German city of Wiesbaden into an epicenter of film and culture from Central and Eastern Europe. Current cinema and archival films, lectures, master classes, concerts, discussion panels, tastings and parties are all part of the program. In the “far West” goEast invites you to explore the cultures of our eastern neighbors.

Wishing you a goEast Christmas!

----------

Beetroot soup, yeast bun, Christmas pâté, carp, dumplings, potatoes, red cabbage with dried fruit, sauerkraut with mushrooms, cabbage rolls, pickled herring, poppy seed cake, salad: Yep, a whole 12 dishes are served in Poland on Christmas Eve - potato salad, anyone? Most modestly, however, is how Orthodox people in Serbia, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Bosnia celebrate the 24th: not at all. As is well known, the table is not served until January 7th, Christmas Day according to the Julian calendar, and presents are given on New Year's Eve.

Can you guess what's goEast's wish for for Christmas? A lot of cinema love and support, of course :)

Wesołych Świąt wszystkim - Merry Christmas, everyone!
