We demand a government declaration from Chancellor Olaf Scholz on the climate catastrophe: 4 simple points from the IPCC report AR6.
Our climate camp is located at Invalidenplatz, Berlin: a meeting point and place of residence for everyone who wants to preserve our livelihoods in the climate crisis. Every day we walk to the nearby Bundestag and address our representatives in front of the House. However, for the hunger strikers, the short walk feels like a marathon.

What is this project all about?
Our politicians are currently not saying how dramatic the threat posed by the climate crisis is. We want to change that. Specifically, we are addressing the “climate chancellor” Olaf Scholz.
This fundraising project collects for the hunger strike camp: we need tents, ground protection mats, water, electricity, toilets, material for media campaigns, food for supporters,... and much more to reach the public and our government.
We expect at least 10 000 € - a sum that we unfortunately cannot cover on our own. We are happy about every small donation!

Der Hungerstreik ist eine Kampagne mit einer einzigen, klaren Forderung an die Politik. Hier bei Startnext sammeln wir Geld, um das Camp im Regierungsviertel sichtbar zu machen - vor Ort in Berlin, in der Presse und im Internet. Details und Forderungen findet ihr auf unserer Homepage.

Why would you support this project?
Klimaschutz ist auch Schutz der Demokratie. Wenn sich unsere führenden Regierungsmitglieder in Berlin bisher unentschlossen sind, die Bedrohung auszusprechen, dann sind wir als Bürger:innen zu Druck verpflichtet. Das Hungerstreikcamp ist eine angezeigte Versammlung in Berliner Regierungsviertel. Mit deinem Geld schützt du zukünftige Generationen und die Demokratie.
How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?
Das Geld fließt in Materialien für das Hungerstreik-Camp. Sollten wir mehr Geld sammeln als wir brauchen, dann spenden wir es an die Klimainitiativen aus dem #StopptFossileSubventionen-Bündnis.
Who are the people behind the project?
Wir pflegen mit der ganzen Klimabewegung, inklusive der Klima-Union, ein wertschätzendes Miteinander.
Wir sind eine eigenständige, zeitlich begrenzte Kampagne, und einige von uns sind auch in anderen Initiativen aktiv, z.B. Extinction Rebellion, Scientist Rebellion und der Letzten Generation.

Die Vernetzung läuft auf Hochtouren und Olaf Scholz hat sich am Freitag direkt zum Hungerstreik geäußert: es bräuchte kein Bekenntnis, sagt er.
Wir sagen: es braucht eine klare, ehrliche Kommunikation: es ist bereits zu viel CO₂ in der Luft, die Zivilisation ist gefährdet.
Unser Hungerstreikcamp im Invalidenpark Berlin bleibt - und Wolli hat seit 81 Tagen nichts gegessen.

Der Hungerstreik geht leider weiter, weil Olaf Scholz noch immer nicht klar über die Klimasituation spricht.
