Kunststück.oFfm – Artists in Offenbach & Frankfurt

Art is no luxury!

Offenbach and Frankfurt are neighbouring cities but very different. I asked myself if this manifested itself in the arts scene of the two cities? Are there any similarities or any differences? What do the artists think about it? The photo project "Pieces of Art – Artists in Offenbach and Frankfurt” wants to give an idea about who is working in the art field and their different approaches.

What is this project all about?

Art is no luxury. People do not need just football, discount supermarkets and parking places! Art makes a city come alive; without it cities would be very bleak places. My intention is to give some idea about the variety of artists living in these two cities. Culture is important!

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

Having portrayed artists based in Offenbach I want to expand the photo project and depict artists in Frankfurt. The Offenbach portraits „Kunststueck.of“ are exhibited until November 16th at the Deutscher Wetterdienst (German Meteorological Service) in Offenbach. More details on: http://www.dwd.de/kunst (in German). Finally all artists’ portraits and interviews shall be exhibited and published in a high quality photo book.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

The collected money will be used to finance:

Transaction fees,
Photo sessions (film material, developing of films, first prints)
Preparation of the exhibition
Making of the exhibition prints
Contribution to printing costs for a high quality photo book "Kunststück.oFfm", which includes all portrait photos and interviews.

Who are the people behind the project?

My name is Volker Muth and I am a freelance photographer based in Frankfurt, Germany. As a photographer I have focused on portraits, reportage and architectural. I am fascinated by technical work processes, craftsmanship and people who see their job as a vocation and take pride in their work. With my photos I want to portray such merits.
