Mareeya - Montreal Night Shifts (Live-EP)

1 City, 3 Months, 1 Band, 6 Songs, 2 Videos, 1 Experience - during 3 months this summer and fall I will record my new mini-album in Montréal. However, we will not do ordinary studio recordings but we will record Live-Sessions with local musicians from Montréal. Help us do it and watch what happens!

What is this project all about?

I call it Live-Sessions-EP but actually it is much more than that. It is the result of a journey, an experience, an adventure, a trip into the unknown.

After recording my debut EP with my German band in 2013 I felt it was now time for my sophomore record. However, I didn't just want to record yet another studio EP but I wanted to do something special.

So I packed my bags and I went to Montréal, Québec, Canada to spend the summer there and to record a new EP. In order to put more of the actual experience in there and to give the wonderful people who make all this possible - first and foremost the amazing Canadian musicians - proper credit the recordings will be done live during the Montreal Day Shifts and Montreal Night Shifts - that we will capture in a couple of videos as well.

And in order for all of this to really happen we need YOU and YOUR SUPPORT! THANK YOU!!!

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

The goal is the production of a Live-EP in German-Canadian cooperation.

The project is for everyone with ears and eyes!

Why would you support this project?

First of all, there are more than enough selfish reasons to support the project. After all, every contributor gets a reward that is well worth its money! So it is less about donating than about taking a leap of faith in our favor.

But there are also tons of reasons to give more than the value of the rewards or to support us even though you may not even like the music ;-) Doesn't it just feel good to help people do what they love? People who dedicate their love, time and talent to something, just out of a common passion.

And needless to say that every contributor is also fostering the German-Canadian friendship ;-)

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

The money goes directly into the production of the mini-album, that is:

Rent (Rehearsal space, studio)
Audio engineer
Mixing, Mastering
Video production
Photography, graphic design

Who are the people behind the project?

That would be me. Yours truly, Mareeya :-)

For me this projects combines a certain number of personal passions: Music, people, cultures and languages. All these things have accompanied and fascinated me all my life.

But of course it is not just me who is behind the project, but also amazing musicians, that I could convince to get on board with me und who with their time, their incredible talent and their crazy energy truly are at the core of the whole project. Without them there would be nothing here to finance.
