Help out Motte!

In order to get Motte and our team through this difficult time, we need financial means to cover our running costs.

What is this project all about?
The corona crisis has had a massive impact on everyday life. Our dining room and terrace must remain closed, we are only allowed to offer you drinks and food to-go and nobody should go outside much anyway.

Thanks to to-go we can at least secure your basic supply of good coffee, cake and Knödel and we have a little space for experiments in the kitchen. Unfortunately, this limited opportunity for sales does not nearly cover our costs. Our team is already at home and at least hopes for temporary unemployment benefits. But bureaucracy is slow and public aid is just a drop in the bucket.

We still want to continue. Therefore, we need your help now!

What is the project goal and who is the project for?
All who know and love Motte. Wedding coffee addicts, Knödel friends from all over Berlin and cake junkies from all over the world.

Why would you support this project?
Good coffee, delicious cakes, scrumptious Knödel, local Eschenbräu beer on tap and wines selected by the team. Malplaquetkiez without Motte? Not so nice!

In the past two years we have built a comfy spot in Wedding, invested countless working hours and even more heart, learned a lot, are a strong team and have great guests. That is why we absolutely want to stay and continue working with our whole team.

In order for Motte to keep its doors open in the (hopefully) less stormy times to come, we’re only left to say:

We need you and maybe you need us a little too. Together we can defy these times.

If we can do that, we'll be celebrating a big Motte birthday party this summer with all supporters and friends and all our new creations from the kitchen and bar! Promised!

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?
Due to the new restrictions, our sales have slumped. We lack the means to pay our running costs such as rent, fixed costs and existing credit payments. We need about 7500 Euros in the next few weeks to keep Motte going.

We would also like to supplement our employees' unemployment benefits, because no one in the team can live on 60% of the salary without tips.

We also want to be able to pay our bills because we have very nice and reliable suppliers and partners who were hit as hard as we were.

We are committed to get through these difficult times. With your help, we can bring Motte to summer 2020 (and make it weatherproof it for the coming years and storms). We believe in ourselves and in you.
