Crowdfunding since 2010

Music- and bandworkshops for teenagers and refugees in Palestine.

Hi, my name is Philipp and I am holding band-workshops for refugees from Syria and the Balkans in Germany. Starting in autumn this year I plan to study in Bir zayt, Palestine. During my stay there I want to offer this kind of music workshops to the local youth and refugees. The peer-to-peer concept allows them to include their own wishes and find their individual access to music. In 3 months, the participants prepare themselves for a live-gig. The participation is without admission (free).

سلامات Salamat dear Musiqa-Followers,

I hope you're all doing well,

The last months here were characterized by great times, but also ups and downs in our workshops. All in all we had a great time and beautiful rehearsals and just in time with the Palestinian summer heat we started performing with our Workshop-Band a few weeks ago.

Below you find a link to a video of one of the songs we played at our first concert at a "summer school project" in Beit Sahur, close to Bethlehem. We performed 4 songs, the one recorded is an Arabic-Pop-Rock Song, "Waynek min Zaman", "where have you been since (such a long) time".

In the video, from left to right, you see me, Theresa, Ahmed (the co-teacher), Yazan the trumpet player, Fatma, Christine and Mary (vocals), Fuad and Tamer (Tabla and Drums).

Entering the phase of performing is one of the corner stones of our musiqa project - so I am happy to tell you that we successfully took this step and realized our first small concerts.

We're hoping to play some more gigs and of course I will keep you informed about it.

Keep up the vibe, Thanks for your support and all the best,

The "Musiqa"-Band and Philipp
