Crowdfunding since 2010
NODE15 Forum for Digital Arts with its leitmotif "Wrapped in Code – The Future of the Informed Body" will open its doors for a week-long discussion on the changing relationship between the human body and technology. With an exhibition and talks we want to reflect on how technology is entering, changing and enhancing the body. What is this project all about?

With your support we will curate a program of performances, talks and exhibitions for NODE15 Forum for Digital Arts. We want to invite speakers and artists who address the ongoing changes in the relationship between the human body and technology.

NODE15 "Wrapped in Code – The Future of the Informed Body" is dedicated to the negotiation of the human body throughout the current technological developments and the general access to highlevel technologies. We will talk on the integral role of the body in processes of perception and interaction; as location of implicit knowledge; and as a tool we constantly try to extend and optimize.
The festival will address the relation of body and consciousness in the interdependent evolution of humankind and technology. It starts from the gradual incorporation of instruments and processes into the body. Gadgets and algorithms optimize our daily life while some people are morphing into what may be named a cyborg.
An exhibition, performances, workshops and a lecture-program will shed light on these complex, yet inescapable questions. They will bridge the gap between techno-scientific developments and the public.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

All formats will be presented and designed in an easily accessible way. We want to encourage everyone to find his or her personal entry point into the discourse. A significant share of the audience will consist of people who work with computer code in an artistic and design oriented way. For us it is important to initiate an open dialog between audiences and allow them to reflect on our topic from different perspectives: citizens, technology experts or artists who are interested in the digital turn.
For the first time, NODE15 will also offer a workshop program especially for children.

Why would you support this project?

We are a huge team of enthusiasts working voluntarily on the realization of this project for half a year now. NODE15 Forum will definitely take place from April 27th to May 3rd 2015 and most of our estimated expenses are already covered by the fact that so many people are engaged passionately. However, we are still searching for ways to finance this venture and to make it even more interesting and exciting for diverse audiences. Our target groups and interests lie at the intersection of arts and technology - a concept that makes it more difficult for us to fit into traditional funding structures.
With the help of our crowd supporters and the Aventis Foundation we hope to overcome these difficulties.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

With a successfully funded campaign we will invite artists, speakers, and performers to Frankfurt. We will install and design the exhibition and the space. And we will organize artist talks, children workshops, tours and all necessary material for promoting and explaining the leitmotif.

With your money we will:
- pay artist/speaker-fees, travelcosts and accomodation
- pay rent for the venues
- curate, organize, moderate and execute the program
- pay for insurance and transportation of artworks and gadgets
- rent technical equipment and pay for the exhibition architecture
- install a cosy environment with couches, food and beverages to grant an insipiring atmosphere for a vivid dialog

Who are the people behind the project?
