Is this the low point?
As some of you heard on Facebook our week started quite bad and it turned out that it didn´t get any better. Already on Sunday the whole campaign stagnated - and merely any new supporter joined during the week. Why? Maybe because our team was simply dead.
Matthias, our communications expert, had a Hexenschuss (lumbago) and stayed in bed for a couple of days. As if that wasn’t enough, his old dumb phone broke down, leaving him with sadness. The only good thing: Equipped with a new Android phone he can now fully enjoy our App for the first time.
Our core developer Andreas has had a week of OFFTIME with family reunion and a weekend at the Fusion festival ( http://www.fusion-festival.de/ ) – but confronted with "reality" again (unpacked boxes from house moving, broken dish washer, 1 week of emails) it took him two more days to get back on track. He just sent out a loud call to his friends to spread the word but now he’s got to put all his efforts in the development of our ( OFFTIME ) BETA-Version.
Finally Alex, our innovator, product manager and academic backbone had to focus on product development and our ongoing psychological studies again, making it hard for him to support the crowdfunding crew. Then by chance, he met our Minister of Economics and Technology, Philipp Rösler, on wednesday ( http://offt.me/1a5GrxT ) and told him about our app – probably the single highlight of our week.
I myself, designer in the team, took some ( OFFTIME ) as I have to take care of my son Guim ( http://offt.me/19Ywpes ) now while my girlfriend finishes her Master’s thesis. I switched off my phone as much as I could to get my head free and find time for my family. After several weeks of long nightshifts before our campaign launch, it was about time to give back a little. But that also meant, I couldn’t mobilize people for the campaign.
Many people reached out to us last week, motivating us with their comments. The numbers of supporters and donations seemed to grow by the minute.
Today, just a few days later, I’m troubled.
This poor week leaves me with questions and doubts: Why don’t more people support ( OFFTIME ) yet? Do they really care? Is there any way, we can reach our funding goal?
