The printing costs for the book in Hamburg are about 8700 Euro plus the transport to Cologne, where I send the books to you.
"Paradies" follows on seamlessly the last photo book "Tage danach". After the failed summer love and the party life already lived through in volume one, the search for paradise is now underway. What does "Paradies" mean? What does it actually look like and where can you find it? Everyone has to find the answer themselves, but I want to take you on my very personal journey there in this illustrated book and my analogue photographs.
"Paradies" might appeal to you if you love analogue photography, like the smell of freshly printed paper and don't want to scroll through photographs on your smartphone display. If you like honest photography, documentaries, portraits and unique snapshots, you will certainly like this book. With the purchase you also support my work as a freelance photographer.
As always at Crowdfundings you can support the work of freelance artists! You can also find a bunch of limited edition stuff here, which won't be available anywhere else later on. Perfect for photo lovers who like to collect prints, books and stuff. Furthermore, you can get my new photo book even here for less than later in the further sale. So you not only support me and my idea of the trilogy, but you also save money on collecting photo books.
As soon as the crowdfunding was successful, I will get the money from Startnext and will use it to order printing at the Siepmann printing house in Hamburg. A few weeks later the books will arrive at my place in Cologne and I will pack them for the journey to you. I do all this myself with friends here at Studio BENHAMMER. So that - if everything goes perfectly according to plan - you will have the books under your Christmas tree in December.
If the project is not completed successfully, nothing will be debited from your bank account, this happens only if the crowdfunding is successful. So Startnext will keep everything safe for you until the crowdfunding is over. Hopefully successfully, so that we can start the production together.
Should we also reach the second funding target, I will come up with more collectibles. More fine art motives or other goodies. We'll talk about it in the trilogy's Facebook group, just like the last times! So you can even actively participate - if you want. Anyway, I would be happy.
If you have never heard of me, which is very likely, I will tell you a little bit more here. I am Ben and I am a freelance photographer based in Cologne since 2014. In 2016, I published my first photo book called "Das Leben und Sterben des BENHAMMER". 2018 followed with "Tage Danach" my second one. Both are very personal photo books filled with analogue photography. With "Paradies" I would now like to finally conclude the trilogy.
As with the last two illustrated books, I do almost everything myself. The printing will again be done by Druckerei Siepmann in Hamburg. I will shoot the analog photos on my Contax G2, my T2 and a Canon AE1. Matthes Zimmermann from Düsseldorf will do the final layout. In the meantime we have gained some experience from the last two books, so I think "Paradies" will be even better!
If you have any questions, feel free to send me an e-mail at [email protected] or join our small Facebook group about the book with almost 300 members, where we can exchange further information about the project.
Apart from that, I am of course happy about any kind of support for the project. Sharing, forwarding mails, shoutouts on Instagram - you know how it works. I am happy about everything!
