Hello! Good to see you on this Crowdfunding site. We are Morena (23) and Ayanna (21) from Berlin, we pulled this together.
Francis is our Dad. He is a farmer and founder of Amprofi Farms. We and our mother are proud of his courage, commitment and positive outlook that enabled him, despite obstacles, to hold firm on to his idea of solidary farming in Ghana.
Our father lived in Germany from 1984 to 2015. He holds an MSc. in Economics and an MBA. By virtue of his qualifications and many years of work as an SAP consultant with multinational companies he has the know-how and in-depth experience in corporate organization.
Amprofi Farms is more than just an agricultural project.
Three years ago our Dad made the decision to quit Berlin, his adopted home, to cultivate maize and cassava in the Brong Ahafo region of western Ghana. This was not an easy decision to make, but he could no longer look on unconcerned while the neo-liberal international economic order resulted in food shortages and rural migration ( not only in Ghana).
Despite some obstacles, he held, and continues to hold unto his vision and harvested his first crop two years after his arrival.
It looked as if the way had been paved and he had realized his dream, not primarily focused on profit, but on the independence of the region - and in the long run, the country as a whole- from multinational companies and economic partnership agreements.
We reckoned with bush fires and pests, but what happened was worse: total crop loss due to poor, non-viable seeds!

Alone, we are incapable of defending his ideology; that is why we are appealing to you to support him.
