Hi! My pleasure to e-meet!
My name is Simone Orgel, or Mona for short. I'm so happy you found your way here. I'd like to invite you on my quest of Bing({'})h that started in 2014 and has taught me so much. I hope to share all this wisdom and more with you.
I have a passion for reinterpreting complex issues to create an easier approach for myself and for others. Since 2004 I have been working with various media and materials, including watercolour studies, sculptures, welding, woodcarving (with a chainsaw), filming, virtual reality or games. In 2003/2004 I exhibited my installation "Über den Lauf des Lebens - Serie von Objekten über Werden und Vergehen" in the Munich City Library and the Deutsches Herzzentrum. A series that deals with confronting death. Since 2012 and 2013 (local) identity drives me and I have concluded a research project on the topic that serves as a foundation for a cooperation with Verena Bunkus. Together, we created the short film & workshop series "StadtGeSchichten - мІсторії Львова". "StadtGeSchichten - мІсторії Львова".First presented in Leviv, Ukraine the film then went on to be shown in Munich and Berlin.
Since 2014 I have been working on Bing({'})h. What began with a papaya and its context soon turned into a quest to question existing body images. My artwork today focusses primarily on confronting society's taboos regarding sexuality and the misleading depictions of vulvas in the media. As a result Bing({'})h was born. I hope it gives you as much pleasure and insight as it has given me over the years and I invite you to join me on my quest for tackling existing taboos!
