After almost 15 years in the corporate world, Maike founded CAPE Cosmetics at the end of 2018 in order to revolutionise the beauty world and play a decisive role in shaping it in the future.

In addition to sports, cosmetics and makeup have always played a major role in her life, which has been reflected in numerous part-time jobs and internships.

A few years ago, some events came together:

- the diagnosis of an autoimmune disease, which she used to rethink lifestyle, sports, nutrition and cosmetics

- a volunteering trip to South Africa, which inspired her to rethink many aspects and which they do again and again

- a general shift towards a value based, more sustainable, more minimalist life

- the first idea to produce natural cosmetics with ingredients from southern Africa, which then manifested itself in the products that are now to be launched
