I’m a German-Turkish filmmaker, screenwriter and musician. Previously I was a freelancer for culture programs in WDR and arte. After my first feature-length documentary in Germany (Asylum on the Bosphorus, 86 min., ZDF/3sat), I worked for years on end as documentary director at the Turkish network NTV. My films were broadcast prime-time and received high rating figures and international awards. I dwelled on social, ethnic and musical topics. I composed many of my soundtracks myself.

Speaking about music: I’m the co-founder and singer of the Band Morgenland / Yarinistan, which was quite known in Germany in the 80’s and 90’s.

I’ve been working as a director and producer between Turkey and Germany, since 2013.
