Liebe Radikalecker-Freund*innen, Follower*innen, Unterstützer*innen…!
Wir hoffen es geht Euch allen prächtig und Ihr hattet einen guten Start ins neue Jahr.
Wir wissen, dass sich viele von Euch gewundert haben, was aus Radikalecker geworden ist und was wir eigentlich so machen. Nach langer Stille ist das Kollektiv nun zurück und versucht seine Kräfte erneut zu bündeln und ist immer noch gewillt, den Cafétraum wahr werden zu lassen. Wir entschuldigen uns für die lange Stille und freuen uns über Euer Interesse! Genau dieses ist es, was das Kollektiv motiviert und ihm Kraft gibt, nebst allen Schwierigkeiten weiterzumachen.
Als politisches Kollektiv zu arbeiten ist und war bisher eine Herausforderung. Es hat sich herausgestellt, dass die Suche nach einem passenden Ort um unser Café zu eröffnen, genauso schwierig ist, wie eine schöne und bezahlbare Wohnung in Berlin zu finden.. Wir sind uns sicher, dass auch Ihr die die angespannte Wohnungssituation bestens kennt, in dieser – ansonsten – wunderbaren Stadt. Starke Konkurrenz, hohe Mieten, nur wenige verfügbare Angebote, der Versuch den Anforderungen von Immobilienfirmen-Standards zu genügen und der schnelle Rhythmus des Marktes, haben uns ganz schön entmutigt und erschöpft.
Zeitgleich arbeiten wir auf ehrenamtlicher Basis für dieses Projekt und das ist für manche von uns gar nicht so einfach, neben unseren „regulären“ Jobs, unseren Familien und allgemein dem persönlichen Leben, um das wir uns kümmern müssen.
Unsere erfolgreiche Crowdfundingkampagne, die fast 15.000 € gebracht hat, war unfassbar toll. Leider ist der Betrag, den wir damit sammeln konnten, nicht genug um alle Kosten für eine Caféeröffnung und dessen Ausstattung zu decken. Daraus ergibt sich, dass wir weitere finanzielle Mittel benötigen. Wir finden es wichtig hier zu erwähnen, dass wir immer noch ehrenamtlich (d.h. ohne jede Bezahlung) für dieses Projekt arbeiten – deshalb ist das gesammelte Geld noch unangetastet.
Der Traum von einem politischen, kollektiven veganen Ort liegt uns immer noch sehr am Herzen. Wir sind dankbar, dass Ihr immer noch mit uns in Kontakt seid, uns nach unserem Essen fragt und vor allen Dingen, dass Ihr euch immer noch für unser Projekt interessiert. <3
Wir geben nicht auf! Sondern starten mit neuer Energie und halten Euch über unsere nächsten Schritte auf dem Laufenden.

Dear Radikalecker friends, followers, supporters…!
We hope you are all doing fine and that you had a great start in the new year.
We know that many of you have been wondering what happened to Radikalecker and what we have been up to. After a long time of silence, the collective is here again, regathering its forces and still willing to make our café-dream come true. We apologise for this long silence and appreciate your interest! It is indeed what gives the collective its motivation and strength to keep going, in spite of the difficulties.
Working as a political collective has been challenging. The search for a suitable space to open up the café has been as difficult as finding a nice and affordable flat to live in Berlin.. We are sure that you are familiar with the tough rent situation in our otherwise lovely city. Hard competition, high rents, few available spots, trying to fulfill real-estate standards and the speedy rhythm of the market, have discouraged the collective members and exhausted our energy.
At the same time, working on a voluntary basis for this project has been difficult for collective members, as we also have ‘regular’ jobs, families and personal lives that we need to take care of.
Our successful crowdfunding campaign that collected almost 15.000 euros, was surely amazing. Unfortunately, the amount we managed to raise is at the same time not enough to cover all costs for the opening of a fully equipped café. As a consequence of that, further financing efforts are needed. We feel it is important to say here, that we are still working for this project voluntarily (i.e. without payment), therefore all the money we raised with the campaign remains intact.
The dream of a political counter-cultural vegan space remains dear to our hearts. We are thankful that you are still in contact with us, that you ask for our food and most of all that you care about this important project <3
We are not giving up! We are starting again, with new energy now and will keep you updated on our next steps.
