Original music by a most unique duo, performed live in a cozy living-room atmosphere and the entire experience preserved on a premium hi-fidelity CD!
A CD-recording that combines the energy and inspiration of a live concert with the best possible acoustical surroundings. That's what we're planning. Starting April 12th, on four consecutive evenings, we will record in the cozy surroundings of Kachtenhausen's Weinhof, a beautifully renovated old factory in the German countryside close to Detmold. A choice glass of wine, beautiful surroundings and a room full of music-lovers. That's our recipe for a great recording and we'd love your support!

What is this project all about?
This project is about getting a cool and original sound “out there”! For the past 9 years we, Shawn and Wolfgang, have been playing the music that we like and write; music with a jazz sensibility, with the poise and refinement akin to fine chamber music.
Kelley Jo Burk of CBC Radio's “Sound Xchange” in Canada says, “Together the duo creates music that is deeply infectious and full of life. Their music bridges gaps between genres and invites listeners into an intimate and friendly musical space.”
The 400,000+ views and many words of encouragement that we’ve received on our YouTube videos have inspired us to finally put on CD what we love doing! And we have found the perfect partner to take us through the recording process; our sound engineer Florian from MeisterTon.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?
The goal of our project is to finance four live recording sessions and production costs of our debut CD.
This project is for music listeners who value hand-crafted original music and are interested in supporting its creation.
Why would you support this project?
I would support this project knowing that the end-result will be a recording that will be listened to over and over again; great original repertoire, written for an interesting combination of instruments, recorded in front of a live audience, in a fantastic acoustic, by a fantastic sound engineer!
How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?
The monies collected will be used to cover the costs of the recording space, sound engineer fees and post-production costs. Funds collected above and beyond our goal will be used to produce a limited edition vinyl pressing.
Who are the people behind the project?
Shawn Grocott and Wolfgang Meyer are two musicians that could be described as musical "brothers from another mother". This is probably the reason why the unlikely combination of trombone and guitar fit so well together when the two of them take the stage. Their musical goal is to unify beautiful melodies, composed and improvised, with infectious, foot-tapping grooves; to combine the all-out swing of a great big band with the discerning refinement of fine chamber music and bring it to their audiences in a warm-hearted and entertaining way. Florian Bitzer is the very important third man in the duo ;-) sound engineer par excellence, responsible for bringing the hi-fidelity live-sound that Shawn and Wolfgang present on stage to CD.
