I use the money to pay a part of the vinyl production costs.
My second album Starve Out The Algorithm was brought into existence in a two year long creative journey resulting in 13 new songs and a little over an hour of playtime. The entire album was recorded and produced in my home studio in Berlin and most of the instruments were played and arranged by myself. Nevertheless the spirit and sound of the album owes much to the unique recording sessions with many talented artists, above all my band consisting of Erik Zaiser (Keys), Marc Gundermann (Bass) & Juls Kirchmer (Drums). The album also features string recordings with Elisabeth Sommer & Johanna Marcy, brass sections recorded with Thomas Prestin, a vocal feature with Swiss artist Evelinn Trouble for the single Dog Food For The Algorithm and a very special drum recording with my brother Paul Klein.
To make this gem available on vinyl we will need 50-100 visionary contributors to preorder said album. The production of the album is already completed and we realized an especially vivid and dynamic master for this vinyl production to capture the full sonic potential of the medium. Completed by a unique artwork by Berlin based artist OraZero this vinyl edition will definitely represent the “directors cut” and ultimate format of this album.
This limited double vinyl edition is aimed at all music lovers that want to support music and culture beyond the mainstream agenda and simply look forward to enjoy this album in all of its analog glory.
Well first of all of course because you want to enjoy and experience the album Starve Out The Algorithm on vinyl. Without your support I won’t be able to create a vinyl edition of this record with my own means. If you’re not really interested in owning the album on vinyl and simply want to support me on my way as an independent artist I highly appreciate your noble gesture.
With a successful campaign I will finance the production of a limited double vinyl edition of my new album. Due to the pandemic situation and delays in the global delivery chain the production time of vinyls is currently about six months. I can assure you your patience will be rewarded!
Much love, Sid
"Sid Vision is the moniker of Berlin-born Sidney Klein, an acclaimed multi-instrumentalist with a taste for seventies Mellotron grandeur à la early Genesis, the genuine and youthful performance of a Jeff Buckley and the spherical sound excess of the last two Talk Talk records.
A broken wrist from a drunk fight turned Sidney from being a drummer into a guitarist and inventive songwriter embarking on a decade long quest for his own individual musical language - together with his brother Paul on drums. As a result, the band released their self-produced debut album Feverish in 2019, presenting a haunting collection of enigmatic songs and sounds, leaving labels and the music press baffled as to what genre they ́re dealing with.
After several personal changes in the constellation of the band Sidney began venturing new paths rearranging Sid Vision as his solo project. He subsequently released the space pop hymn Week 67, raising his voice for a youth in protest in times of a global climate crisis.
After a wild year of touring both solo with Sid Vision and as a hired gun for Berlin punks Vizediktator, he is currently back in his self-built studio working on his next sound shifting album which will be released in 2022. Sid Vision currently fronts a four-piece band consisting of Juls Kirchmer (Drums), Marc Gundermann (Bass) and Erik Zaiser (Keys)."
