People were drowning,
people were starving,
people were suffering,
people were crying,
people were left alone,
people were pushed back to countries they left,
people had to wait for days and weeks at borders without any information,
people would die,
people were ill,
people's hands and feet were freezing,
... and not (only) refugees?
