Stimmgewalt: A new Chapter for A Cappella Metal from Berlin

After many years of existing as a band and performing mainly cover songs, we have been moving more and more towards our own compositions and style. Now we are ready to show ourselves to our fans and to new audiences at the intersection of a cappella and the dark scene.

We also feel that we are approaching the limit of what we can achieve as a vocal ensemble on our own, which is why we are seeking to partner with a label. However, our music is unusual, to say the least. Similar projects are few and far between, so the possibilities are hard to grasp. A very well produced album will remedy this!

With Chris Harms and his team at Chameleon Studios we have found partners whose work speaks for itself and whom we can trust completely. Equally important: they share our enthusiasm for the sound worlds that can be created in the extraordinary niche of a cappella metal.

We are on fire for our project and ready to kick off some great things. What we are lacking so far is the finance, because enthusiasm alone won't pay studio rent, won't pay for the many hours of mixing and mastering; won't pay for a music video or the accompanying graphic design work.

That's where you come in! We've come up with a colorful dark mix of perks to thank you, and we're sure there's something for everyone. Let's reach this milestone together!

Ideally we want to finance a digital studio album with 12 tracks in optimal quality, not only to give our fans and us a fat load of vocal power to rock, dream and revel in, but also to make the potential of our music project more tangible for labels and hopefully get a suitable one excited to work with us.

The target audience are loyal and new fans of our music and all those who want to promote mouth-made, innovative sound art.

When we tell people that we do a cappella metal, we get a lot of puzzled looks. "How does that work?!" A cappella, that's so tame and nerdy and has nothing to do with the hard riffs, complex arrangements, progressive elements and stylistic diversity that metal-heads often associate with their favorite multifaceted genre.

We see it differently. We experience it differently. We DO it differently. We lure you in with longing gothic ballads and then hit you with brachial growl passages. We speak to symphonic metal enthusiasts with epic passages and archaic sounds and show them that we can cause goose bumps with nothing but the human voice.

We are the antithesis to an over-engineered market and we enjoy it as much as our audience does. Come to our niche. We have cookies!

(The levels were based on an erroneous understanding of how Startnext's tiering system works. Regardless, the milestones are still correct so we decided to keep them.).

Level 1 (€1,000): We can start the first recordings and (re-)finance a small music video for our next single to reach more people who hopefully will support us here as well.

Level 2 (2.000 €): This produces our first song, thanks to you!

Level 3 (4.000 €): With our private contributions and your help we can produce the album. From here on it will get more beautiful with every contribution, and also we will get less broke afterwards.* Thank you!

*No money will go into private Stimmgewalt hands.

Level 4 (6.000 €): We can entrust someone professional with the graphic design for the album.

Level 5 (10.000 €): The studio and mixing costs are ALMOST covered. Only because of you lovely people. You are great!

Level 6 (16.000 €): The full sound spectrum of vocal power shines in all its dark black beauty, and epic music videos are also included. From here onwards, a physical album ist possible.

Level 7 (€26,000): Is there an end to the madness? Of course, we would come up with something for this insane goal as well: Several, if not all, songs could get videos, and live PR for the album is possible by doing a small tour. The thought causes slight hyperventilation. The possibilities are beyond anything that has been done before in Stimmgewalt-land.
