The Grandhotel Cosmopolis has a 10-year history and is one of Augsburg's most culturally diversified establishments. A venue that thrives on encounters and intimacy, where people sit together at the table, on the dance floor, and in everyday life in the heart of our city. We could only have done it last year because of your help. Without your aid, we can no longer continue in the second Corona Winter, where there is no culture for anyone, no vitality. We need you and your support!

What is this project all about?

On the one hand, the Grandhotel is a non-profit organisation that focuses on art, culture, and education, as well as migration assistance services. We advocate for a more equitable urban society. Our whole Grandhotel operates solely on donations.

The Grandhotel, on the other hand, is a café, cosmopolitan restaurant, caterer, event and seminar venue, and hotel - a social business. This is a meeting place that works firmly integratively and inclusively rather than solely for profit.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

Our goal is to realise the utopia of diverse coexistence and action.

Why would you support this project?

The Grandhotel Cosmopolis is one of a kind in terms of its complexity. We rely on donations as well as money from linked businesses as a non-profit organisation.

This year's revenue are significantly decreased because to pandemic limitations on hotels, cafés, restaurants, and culture.

Our staff from short-time work has been back in "regular" everyday living since June. This means that we are once again responsible for all salary expenditures, while the "normal" way of life has yet to return.

Despite the constraints, there were festivals and stages promoting culture and empowerment, since social interaction and support are critical right now. However, the areas that generate consistent money, such as seminars and groups that revitalise the house and hence sustain our work, are severely limited or have become impossible once again. It is still place for more and seats are free... so please, take a seat!

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

The Grandhotel Cosmopolis e.V. receives 100 percent of the revenue. As a result, we are able to cover our operating expenses, retain our workforce, and continue operations in 2022.
