Finally I began recording my new album, together with a team of great people!
Songs about the glory of train rides, about getting lost among the tail lights on a highway late at night, the beauty of coming back home, and also about my very different two grand fathers. One song each. Are there enough songs about grand fathers out there?
For the 3rd album, after my first 2 records "The Road To Salamanca" und "Bodies In The Basement" (http://trailheadmusic.bandcamp.com), I'm working for the first time with Paul B Keeves (GB) and Henry Grant (US) as a joint rhythm section on bass & drums and backing vocals too! We have been working on some killer three part harmonies! Leonardo von Papp and Tom Lynn, two excellent sound technicians here in Berlin are taking care of the engineering, mixing and mastering.
I decided to work with these guys not only because it's a pleasure to have their talents brought into the production process, but also to make this record the best Trailhead album to date!
Whoever enjoys classic folk music, harmony vocals, melodic songs and acoustic arrangements stands a good chance of enjoying the new Trailhead album as well. You can check out already a live version of "On A Train", one of the new songs, here: http://youtu.be/0E0KCsRRRao
With less and less money spent on buying music, the music industry is not willing/able to invest in indie artists anymore. Thus, we are confronted with the challange of financing our ideas, visions, recordings ourselves.
I decided to work with a group of excellent musicians and sound engineers, to record my songs for you, the listener, with the best possible sound and arrangements. After the recording process, the cover, artwork and CD booklet will need to be designed and printed, so there will be a beautiful product to feel in your hands and browse through. I love browsing through booklets! Finally, the CDs themselves need to get pressed, Gema, the German omnipresent licencing company will ask for CD manufacturing fees .. All of this costs a lot of money.
With your help, I hope to raise a part of these costs. :)
All of the raised money will go into the production: musicians- and engineers-fees, CD pressing, manufacturing a booklet with lyrics, nice photos and words of thanks to all of you, the Gema-fees .. the raised sum of 1000€ will cover a good part of those costs. Without it, it will not be possible to archieve the quality I aim for.
Thank you very musch for your help, support and good spirits!
