Grid Elements 2.0 and 1.4 - we are on the home stretch!
After having to postpone the deadline end of January, we have been working especially at workspaces and multilingual features together with Oliver. He is the inventor of IRRE, the core functionality that is the base of grid elements. The core patches he provided are still manadatory to have grid elements 2.0 and 1.4 run cleanly. It is planned to have them within the next releases of TYPO3 versions 4.5 to 6.0.
At the same time Rocco and Joey finished the feature "Get me a copy from another page". It is already available in the current trunk version at the repository. Dirk is close to finish the revised version of the list module and Joey is polishing the new version of the frontend output.
As of now the frontend will work without pi_base, since it is now directly based on tslib_cObj. Currently there is no need for a migration of the database, since the CType used still is "gridelements_pi1". But you must rename two methods in your TypoScript-Templates, since the class name has been changed to tx_gridelements_view.
We are confident to be able to deliver grid elements 1.4 at the beginning of T3BOARD. Grid elements 2.0 will be finished at Schmittenhöhe as well. If you will be there, you are welcome to experience it live. We will upload both versions immediately as soon as the necessary TYPO3 versions will be available.
