Ukulele Portraits

Photo book and sheet music collection in one: a foray through the diverse ukulele scene in Berlin – including favourite songs and audio samples.

Ukulele does so much: swing, pop, Hawaiian mantras – and it simply warms the heart. After being given one as a gift a few years ago, I was overwhelmed by the diversity of the community. So I packed my camera into my bag and visited ukulele players at home and at the Berlin Ukulele Festival. From punk to church musician to clinic clown. The result is 75 portraits of musicians that illustrate what a wonderful uke community we are.
