debut album | vandermeer

Since Spring of 2011, named as „vandermeer“, we work together on arrangements for songs that were performed before by Harmke and Florian as a couple. This cooperation worked out so well that ever since more songs emerged. We did our first performance by autumn 2011 as supporting band for the Australian singer/songwriter Emaline Delapaix. Thereafter the band retired in the remoteness of the Hunsrück to work on selfmade compositions in a relaxed and concentrated atmosphere, called the woodland sessions.

After a couple of performances in several clubs, bars and theatres, we have won the Quattropole-Songcontest in January 2012, which is a contest of the entire region Sarre, Lorraine and Luxemburg. The winning song was the demo version of „all is fair in love and war“, which was recorded during the woodland sessions.

We played on several different stages in the region and surroundings in Spring and Summer of 2012, and in the mean time we recorded three new songs in order to spread our repertoire not only on stages but also by medium.

Time after time we were asked when there will be more from us, and this is where you can help now. The crowdfunding should facilitate us and you to get hold of the debut album! The CD is due for April 2013, when the Spring/Summer concert will take place.

Of course the aim is financing the recordings, mixings and masterings for the CD, as well as printing and advertisement. There are no additional investors!

The debut album should serve as a thank-you to all who have stimulated and supported us, and finally want to play our songs on CD. Also for all of you that would like to get to know us this way!

Furthermore, with this CD, we would like to introduce ourselves beyond the borders of the region, play concerts and extend our audience.

Our music deals with self written, emotional, honestly sensitive, partly dramatic, partly dance-inspired pieces of utterly diverse styles. We strongly believe in our own songwriting and arranging, without support from any record label, dictating, monitoring and financing many other bands. This is why we would like to realise our project this very way, with your support!

With the money that you invest we will be able to record our songs, to mix and remaster the tracks and consequently have the cd issued.All songs will resemble the mood and sound of the three songs that we have recorded already.
