SOS! Save Watergate II

Our doors are still closed. We don't know how long this closure will continue, however, we do know that we want to open our doors again for you, our guests and artists from all over the world. The history of Watergate can't end here.

Our current economic situation is as follows: since the corona-related closure in March, the club has not generated any income. So far, we haven't received any payments from governmental aid programs. The rent was neither waived nor reduced. We have reduced our monthly costs to an economically and morally acceptable minimum.
Nevertheless, with rents and the remaining payments for a very small remaining core team, we still have ongoing costs of around € 50,000 per month.
To finally celebrate with you again after the crisis, we have to cover our running costs until the reopening. We can't do it alone. We need your help! Let's continue!

The fundraiser serves to cover our running costs until the reopening and thus to save the existence of Watergate. Our reserves and the income from the first fundraiser (minus taxes, production costs for rewards, shipping, etc.) will last until June. However the corona-related closures of the Berlin clubs will extend beyond June. This second fundraiser is designed to ensure Watergate's survival for the duration of the official closure.

Watergate has been a defining part of Berlin's club culture for almost two decades. With you, the clubbers and artists from all over the world, we celebrated, laughed and raved for countless days and nights, we lived and breathed Berlin club culture. If we fail to meet our monthly costs until reopening, our Watergate story ends here. We can't and don't want to accept that. Let's continue!

The money is used exclusively to cover the rents for the club and offices as well as remaining personnel costs. This currently includes the wages of a small core team that continues to work for Watergate.
