Mit dem Projekt “Weihnachtsurwald” im Landkreis Oberhavel nahe der Schorfheide ensteht bundesweit einmalig auf mehreren Hektar eine Modell- Landschaft, die die Anforderungen eines Landschaftsschutzgebietes, Bio-Zertifizierung, Klima- Wandel und nachhaltiger, topfgezogener Weihnachtsbaum-Kultur kombiniert. Hier werden nicht nur ehemalige Weihnachtsbäume untergebracht, sondern auch auch eine naturnahe Landschaft entsteht, die durch Wallhecken (sog. Knicks) eingefasst wird
