Final detailed planning and great anticipation!
Our team met again yesterday to discuss the final details of the route until heads were spinning. We even forgot to take a group photo... But we will bring a lot of beautiful photos from the roof of the world - we promise.
We start in the capital Dushanbe, where we have a very dense program. Of course we want to study everyday life in the mahallas, visit lively bazaars, but also the studios of fashion designers and artists, experience and document traditions!
Where else could you socialize in a more relaxed way than on a train journey? That's why we take the train from Dushanbe to Qurgonteppa/Bochtar. From there it goes to the 44 springs and a nature reserve near the Afghan border.
Kulob with his chakan embroidery and falak singing will be another highlight!
We are particularly looking forward to the artisan town of Istaravshan with its beautiful, intact old town, as well as to the northern metropolis of Khujand with its beautiful bazaar and the Suzani embroidery in Panjakent.
We also want to learn more about the culture of minorities like the Jagnob and the Germans in Tajikistan!
We will do the whole trip with support of local partners who will help us also with contacts. Big thanks to them!
