Do you know about the current coffee crisis?
I live in Hamburg, one of the major hubs for world coffee trade. When I go grocery shopping, I can find fair trade coffee at a price of 10 Euros per kg. And yet, I continuously hear in the media about how coffee farmers are struggling. Because it has such little positive impact on the people at the beginning of the value chain, I started to ask myself if the existing trading standard is good enough.
That's why I came together with the Hilo team: to fundamentally change this system.
