Jansen Folkers is working for over 35 years as a professional violin player for classical as well as contemporary music in Berlin and Hamburg.

He has performed concerts i.a. with Grammy-winner Gregory Porter & Chilly Gonzales, Jarvis Cocker, The Pet Shop Boys, The Frank Zappa Band and played for actor Matt Damon, Lou Bega and tenor Rolando Villazon.

Recording artist: JF has recorded music for over 100 movie-, TV and CD- productions, including 15 gold and 7 platinum awarded recordings.

2023 "Edison", dutch music award, as violinist of the "Kaiser Quartett" for their album "Empire"
2017 "Hans", Hamburg "Musician of the year" award, as founding member of the "Kaiser Quartett"
2006 "ECHO" „German Phono Academy" award, as violinist of "Strings de Luxe", recording the "TV- series "Little Amadeus".

Since its opening 2001 in Hamburg, Folkers has been one of the principal violinists in one of the most successful musical production of all times, Disney ́s “Lion King“
