Killekill Berlin

Deutschland

KILLEKILL is a Berlin based company promoting music and events since June 2008. Having grown tired of the monotone offerings of the techno and house scene the city, Nico Deuster decided to take matters into his own hands and founded Killekill, a new club night with the tagline “Kill Your Boredom”.

Based out of Berghain Kantine, the ominous towering of the ex-power plant set the perfect scene for what was to come. Experimental live electronics, mesmerizing visuals and distinctive artwork by Flexn followed a staunchly taste-driven approach to bookings. Determined to avoid the marketing hype tactics employed by the music industry, the Killekill crew prioritised music standards over commercial success - forging their place as one of the leading promoters in town.

Fueled by success, the night divided and multiplied. Over the following years they spun up several new nights that first-ever put significant sounds within the techno spectrum on the Berlin map. They single-handedly disrupted the sound of the city: Killekill: Acid ist Fertig, Electrix, Summer Camp, and Ghetto House Special are events all followed amongst others, not least the mighty Krake Festival — a multidisciplinary one week event in the heart of the city.

If these club nights sought to disrupt the sound of the city, Killekill Records was the perfect sound track. With a plethora of releases from artists including Lakker, The Mover, Dez Williams, Kamikaze Space Programme, Bill Youngman, Alex Cortex, Eomac, Umwelt, Cassegrain & Tin Man, their label has garnered support across the globe and continues to do so with its various offshoots: Vanta, Boidae, Killekill House Trax and Death by Rainbow.
2018 marking their 10th anniversary, Killekill is due to unfold a series of events that highlight their love for things new and old – merging the past and future. Next to the compilation featuring tracks by the likes of MMM, The Horrorist, The Mover, Neil Landstrumm and Swarm Intelligence a club tour across Europe is on the cards.
The last week of July centers around Krake Festival in three selected Berlin venues, raising musical diversity with performances by Paula Temple, Tim Exile, JK Flesh, Mary Ocher and more to be announced.
On top of that, the crew maintains their social engagement by initiating the project 'Ick Mach Welle!' in cooperation with Lebenshilfe Berlin e.V., a music workshop that aims to increase the inclusion of people with disabilities into the electronic music scene.

Remaining dedicated to their sonic investigations, KILLEKILL is on a mission to uncover the previously unknown, following a jagged path, deep into uncharted sonic territory, whether it’s techno, acid, electro, punk or abstract electronica.
