Philipp Rhensius is a writer, musician, sociologist, poet, musicologist, editor, DJ, radio host (Noods Radio), label founder (Arcane Patterns) and curator from Berlin. His work is driven by the idea that emancipation begins when the subject feels its "chains". Both in his texts (published in Taz, Spex, Jungle World, FAZ, NZZ and various book volumes) and his music, he investigates the often invisible connections between the micro- and macro-political. As editor of Norient he treats text, music and sound as seismographs of today and tomorrow to offer insights into a new, multi-layered, possible world. While his music projects (Kl.ne, aphtc, INRA) are connecting dub, drone and sonic fiction, his multimedia spoken word project Alienationst merges sardonic poetry with visceral sound.
