As requested from different sides, here a short english information:
SO36, the legendary club at the heart of Kreuzberg, will be 36 this year. And 36 years of SO36 mean 36 years full of legends and stories begging to be told. The former cinema was first used as a concert venue on 11 August 1978, a gig that witnessed the beginning of a unique story involving avant-garde, punk, closures, re-openings, occupation and changing owners up until today’s managing collective that has been writing the club’s history since 1990. The club’s own biography not only reflects the developments that have taken place in the district of Kreuzberg (Süd Ost/south east) 36 in many respects, but the venue has also shaped those developments, influencing several generations of young musicians, promoting careers, bringing people together and pushing them apart again. It is high time that this story be told straight from the horse’s mouth, as it were. We want to dedicate to the club a great book with photos, anecdotes, memories and the ultimate true chronicle about what went on in SO36. This is accompanied by a DVD containing a rich selection of additional material. For citizens of Kreuzberg, no matter where in the world they happen to be!
