Finally, my new album is coming around the bend, to be released in 2016. And in order to really make that happen, I need your help!
My new album is finally approaching (after taking waaaay too long anyways) and it is scheduled to be released in February 2016 on Midsummer Records. And to make it exactly the album that I think you deserve, I need a little help from my friends :)

What is this project all about?
- In February 2016, my new album entitled "Arboretum" shall be released, and of course with all bells and whistles.
- By that I mean, in digital form, i.e. download and CD, as well as (FINALLY) on beautiful vinyl (YES!).
- And in order to make all that happen, I need you guys!
What is the project goal and who is the project for?
- As most of you probably already know (I'm sure the musicians do!) an album production is quite the money-suck, especially if the outcome is supposed to have a certain level of quality. And of course, that is what I aim for when recording.
- There are the costs of renting a recording studio, and paying a producer and/or audio engineer. On top of that, there is mastering, whcih is absolutely necessary for a refined sound, which largely enhances the entire recording. And of course, there is the album artwork, which is an essential part of the whole album-experience.
- The bill for all that is rather steep, and of course even steeper for an solo artist such as myself; it's just a little easier for a band who can split the cost 4/5 ways.
- This is why I need your help so I can manage these expenses. Of course that will not mean that you are paying for the entire album, which would of course be completely out of proportion, but I need your help to assure that I can keep this releasing-albums-thing going, and any help is greatly appreciated!
- To sum things up: the goal of this crowdfunding is to make sure that I can have my new album released in Feb 2016, and this way we can make that happen together!
Why would you support this project?
- That is a tough question, but I guess if you like my music and would like to have a new Ghost of a Chance album out in the world, then I would very much appreciate if you supported me.
- As I've mentioned several times above, the cost of producing and releasing a studi album are considerable, and in order to make it the album I would like to release and that I think you guys deserve, I will need just a little bit of help
How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?
- The money will mostly be used to cover the expenses for the album's production (studio rent, producer, mastering, artwork) at least in part.
- Of course it will also be used for pressing vinyl, which the second large cost factor in this case.
- In the event of overfinancing, the surplus will be used to cover even more costs for production and vinyl. And my deep gratitude will grow manifold ;)
Who are the people behind the project?
Behind this project am I, Tobias Heiland. I write and perform songs under the pseudnym Ghost of a Chance. On "Arboretum" I was joined by my friend and drummer Leo Weyand.
But of course, there are also the people without whom this production would not be possible.
