Crowdfunding since 2010

Shaping a sustainable future for the textile industry together.

In all industries we must ask ourselves: Will what we do today still work tomorrow? For the textile industry the answer is a resounding no. We want to make a difference together and fill fashion with values. To achieve this, we work responsibly, conserve resources and only produce what is needed. We believe in a just world in which we treat each other with appreciation, with the common goal of preserving our earth. The future is in our hands!

What is this project all about?

The following applies for the fashion industry as well as for many other industries:
“We cannot continue with business as usual”. We must change something - urgently!

What's the problem with our clothes?
The textile industry is responsible for:
• about 1.2 billion tons of CO2 emissions per year
• about 35 % of the microplastics in the world's oceans, which come from synthetic textile fibers alone
• incredible overproduction
• catastrophic, inhumane working conditions and exploitation
• soil loss through monocultures and the excessive use of chemicals
• an oil consumption of over 100 million tons per year for man-made fibers alone
What is left is rubbish - about a truckload of textile waste per second.

What do we do differently at Avalu?
Avalu stands for: a value. We want to give fashion back its value - and do what everyone should have been doing for a long time: We take responsibility for our products, their origin and their processing. We work responsibly, conserve resources and only produce what is really needed.
At Avalu, we are extracting the natural fibers for our high-quality yarns from renewable resources. These yarns are used to produce product samples. You can pre-order the samples, before we start producing according to your needs. All garments are produced carbon-neutral, without any toxic chemicals and avoiding any waste. Once they have worn off so much that they cannot be fixed any more, they are 100 % biodegradable and completely return into the natural cycle. Through this, we preserve our planet together.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

We make fashion for people who share our enthusiasm for beautiful things!
Fashion for people who are interested in where their clothes come from and who think about whether they are ethically and environmentally justifiable. People who want to express their individuality and attitude with their clothes.
Fashion always means change, as well. And it is high time for this change! We want to implement sustainable solutions together instead of remaining inactive during seemingly overpowering crises - because in the end, what the future of our earth and thus our life looks like it is up to us.

Why would you support this project?

We founded Avalu because we want to give fashion a soul again. Because we want to make a difference together. Because it's about much more than fashion!
We want to bundle our skills, our knowledge and our creativity in order to create something beautiful together with you. Because every crisis also harbors an opportunity: It is time for a change in values! When, if not now?
For us, crowdfunding is the only way to implement this project independently and directly with you from the start.
Crowdfunding ist für uns der einzige Weg, dieses Projekt unabhängig und von Anfang an direkt mit euch zusammen umzusetzen.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

We have reached our 1st funding goal – all pre-ordered products can now be produced!
And of course, we continue: Our suppliers live on well-filled dye pots, from running their knitting machines or from selling fibers. Let’s make them happy with strong orders! There are many more people who are a part of Avalu by making it visible through photos, film, text and other means.

The value chain for textiles is long and many people are involved we can wear a piece of clothes. In the current situation, many of these people are facing great challenges. Let us build perspectives together and find ways into a sustainable future! If not now, when?
We are happy about everyone who decides to join us and about every kind of support! Thanks a lot
