Crowdfunding since 2010
So far my short has been at 7 film festivals. Next week it wins two prizes, but each time Baby Gun goes alone. I just got news that she has been accepted to the Adelaide Film Festival. Fantastic! It is 1 of Australia's most prominent film festivals visited by film critics and publishers from everywhere. Adelaide being small means if I took Baby Gun by the hand this time, we could make great contacts and especially find the illusive co-producer needed for my next Australian feature project.

What is this project all about?

A short film starring Franziska Junge, voiced by Eva Mattes (known from films like R.W. Fassbinder's 'The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant'), many other actors and actresses, and the Australian singer Angela Cory. Help us get to the Adelaide Film Festival AFF in Australia this October.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

The Adelaide Film Festival is acclaimed world-wide as one of the most exciting festivals for new and emerging artists. The festival setting is in the city of Adelaide - which already has a connection to Germany: German Lutherans brought the first vineyards there in the 1830s! What a fabulous way to continue the connection between these two places!

This is, of course, an exciting opportunity for me as a film maker. But it is also an opportunity to showcase the work of Franziska from the theatre ‚Schauspiel Frankfurt’, or Alexander Scheer from ‚Volksbühne Berlin’ in a prestigious international setting.

Why would you support this project?

Lovers of German film and theatre should help us pull together enough funds to take Baby Gun to Adelaide. Eilhardt Productions will be hosting a soiree in Berlin before we leave to show case the Film in an intimate setting.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

Funds will be directed to assist in travel costs to Adelaide; We are also planning an intimate film night in Berlin to showcase the film for our German fans; We will be making limited edition copies of the film available to those who support our goal.

Who are the people behind the project?

Born in Osterode in the Harz Mountains, Germany in 1970. From 1993 Jan studied visual communication and fine arts in combination at the Hochschule für bildende Künste in Hamburg. (amongst others, he studied under Marina Abramović). In 1995 he worked as an assistant at the Berliner Ensemble under Heiner Müller "The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui". For his film project about the French Revolution, he received the grant "Kunstfonds Bonn". He participated in the "Kunstfilmbiennale Museum Ludwig" in Cologne with his film "Quasar". Since then he has shown several short films as part of cinema short film programs as well as in the festival and gallery context. "The Court of Shards" (2012) is his debut feature length movie and had its world premiere at Slamdance Film Festival in Park City, January 2013. His latest project „The Last Night of Baby Gun" is narrated by Eva Mattes, one of Fassbinder’s darlings.
