What is this project all about?

BACANA means in Portuguese awesome, cool, fantastic. In Brazil, this term is used especially when you get good news or get to know something new. It´s exactly this feeling we want to integrate into our skin care products. Our project is based on the idea of sharing experience and novelty. We want to arouse your curiosity about new products, show what nature has to offer you, and turn old habits into exciting new experiences.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

BACANA are unique products made in our own laboratory with great precision and attention to detail. We work with passion and use only high quality ingredients in our formulas. Also, our products take into account the special requirements of the different skin types.

Why would you support this project?

By helping us, you actively support the development of our brand. Developing and producing skincare products according to all the rules means countless design attempts, test phases, certification processes and of course a lot of administrative effort. For this, we need your help. But we would like to offer you something as well. Therefore, we see this crowdfunding campaign as a sort of pre-sale of our online-shop. If you want to become part of our adventure, you will receive products of your choice from our brand or a voucher for our online-shop.

Three products are being developed for our brand:

Cream: our first product is a multifunctional bioactive cream with sustainable ingredients from Brazil and the Amazon. The cream helps to reduce melanin spots on the skin while offering anti-aging, moisturizer and antioxidant benefits.
Facial mask: with clay and vitamin C from natural sources, the mask has a purifying, mineralizing and brightening effect. The result is a smooth and radiant skin.
Serum: innovative Skin-Food Cosmetics Product that repairs and acts as an antioxidant. This serum contains a innovative extract complex from Brazil. It is not only the sun of South America, but also lots of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants! The serum provides intense hydration, strengthens skin cells, and helps to firms and tones the skin.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

We have already invested in the necessary laboratory material to start designing and testing our products.
We need your help now above all:

for the further development of our creations under the best possible conditions, so that we can present them to you as soon as possible.
to establish our inventory, that is, to procure the ingredients, to buy bottles etc.
to finance the different certification processes.

Who are the people behind the project?

Fernanda Leitão
Pharmacist specializing in the development and manufacture of cosmetics and adventurer.
One day in 2013 I left my homeland, Brazil to move to France. Not only did I learn a new language there, but I also graduated a master's degree in the development of cosmetics. Three years ago, my husband and I moved to Berlin, where we live and work ever since. I have worked in cosmetics since my graduation in French and German companies. However, a small part of me always wanted to do something different, combine my passion for Brazil and cosmetics and create new, unique products. BACANA is the realization of this dream: I can finally realize and share with you what is important to me: the love for the Brazilian nature and the enthusiasm for skincare products.

My contribution to this project is, above all, that of a good husband, who, while ignorant of cosmetics, does its best to help Fernanda to realize her dream. For a few months now, I spend my evenings looking for laboratory machines that are used but still in optimal condition. Fortunately, my many years of experience in engineering help me. This project fascinates and excites me because I believe not only in Fernanda and her ideas, but also in the concept and our products. Everything Fernanda has created so far has been a success and has made people a little happier.

LOMO - specialized in the development of brand names
Our partner LOMO is a new company specialized in visual solutions for social media. They helped us with our logo and will help us to design our website and our marketing. LOMO belongs to the family so to speak, because the company was founded by Larissa, Fernanda's sister-in-law, and her brother Thiago.
