What is this project all about?

With the founding of our company, we want to fulfill a long-awaited dream to create a place of encounter that provides a space for art and culture on different levels and that we have longed for since we were young artists, but never really found. The idea is to create an embracing and imaginative place where especially marginalized artists can come together, develop artistically, network and encourage each other.

The company name "BARAZA" not only stands for our shared family name, but also comes from the African language Swahili and translates into German as "place of encounter".

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

The aim of our concept is to offer marginalized artists an uncensored space in which creativity, respect, tolerance and encounters are emphasized.

A place characterized by art and culture that creates encounters, that invites people to co-work together, where regional, national and international artists can exhibit and curate and that provides access to artistic and uplifting events - for artists, but above all for marginalized people who find it difficult to enter the art scene!

Why would you support this project?

Our project is about all artists who are looking for a unique and safe space for personal and artistic development, which we want to make possible first and foremost for us, marginalized groups and YOU!

This campaign reflects the dream of many artists who find it difficult to enter the art scene. Maybe you share this dream with us?

If the campaign is successful, we will be able to realize our project with the budget and both support and promote the target group mentioned. We believe that the community around the art and culture scene in Berlin and throughout Germany will be enriched by the project and that we can offer the community added value at the same time.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

If the funding is successful, we will finally be in a financial position to rent and furnish our dream location so that we can immediately start funding artists and curating exhibitions. Below you will find a description of what your support can look like and what it can ultimately achieve.

1. level 15.000 €:

With a financing amount of €15,000, you would help us finally rent our dream location and finance the first deposit installment, one month's rent including ancillary costs and the management consultancy that helped us with our business plan (this was essential to convince the landlord of our project).

2nd level €30,000:

If we were to receive a sum of €30,000 with your help, we would be in a financial position to partially furnish our dream location in addition to the initial expenses incurred upon successfully renting our dream location (first deposit installment, first month's rent incl. ancillary costs and business consulting) and thus start our services (co-working, events, exhibitions, workshops, etc.) immediately in April/May 2024!

3rd level 60.000€:

If we receive a funding amount of €60,000 through your great help, in addition to the above costs and expenses, you would help us hire our first staff and offer them decent wages, complete our facility and we could finally host our first big events and offer artists the space they deserve and create vibrantly together with us!

4th level €150,000:

This covers the first year of our business idea without financial worries and dependency and funding for artists is finally possible! As we do not want to be dependent on subsidies, banks and loans, we need your support. If we manage to raise this amount, we can finance everything worry-free and support artists worry-free! So this amount is much more for you! Be it rent, commission, deposit, facilities and equipment for events, funding for artists, staffing and public relations, as well as social media and website presence - all this would be covered and would relieve us financially so that we could focus on funding individual artists without any worries.

We are counting on your support and hope that you will visit us at the opening and want to work with us!
